At QuickPickleKit.com, giving back to the community is part of who we are. We have partnered with California nonprofits to provide jobs for developmentally disabled adults. It is an honor for us to help these hardworking individuals achieve their personal and professional goals.
Andrea and Meaghan were invited as guest lecturers to the local San Luis Obispo Laguna Middle School to share their insights on leadership and entrepreneurship. In addition, QuickPickleKit.com supported San Luis Obispo Laguna Middle School’s club with a kick-off fundraiser in which they gave 100% of the profits from this endeavor to their club. This was a healthy fundraiser designed to provide opportunities for students to learn entrepreneurial skills and give back to the community.
In response to the California CampFire in 2018, QuickPickleKit.com supported the Veterinary Emergency Response Team (VERT) at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine by donating 10% of sales from purchases on the QuickPickleKit.com website. Donations help provide medical supplies, transportation, medicine and food for displaced animals until they can be reunited with their families.
Andrea and Meaghan participated in the Virtual Startup Career Fair hosted by the UC Davis Graduate School of Management in May 2020. From this career fair, Andrea and Meaghan added five summer interns to their team to mentor them through the ins and outs of a small business.
QuickPickleKit.com conducted an online fundraiser and donated 10% of sales to support the First Responder Children’s Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund in May 2020.
QuickPickleKit.com’s financial support provided grants to first responders in the following ways:
• Hotel rooms to first responders to self-quarantine and keep their family members safe
• College scholarships for children with first responder parents who have died due to COVID-19
The Blue C Community Garden is a project of San Luis Obispo-based nonprofit organization Ecologistics. The Garden provides space for community members to grow their own food and teach local schoolchildren and other interested gardeners ecological stewardship. In one of the community events at the Garden, QuickPickleKit.com hosted a demonstration of the Quick Pickle Kit and how to pickle extra vegetables and reduce food waste.
